Every Now Again. 

 

A book comes along that takes you by surprise. Strange Love is one of those that grabs you and won't let go. There's lots of the alien kidnapper stuff out there right now. This may begin with a kidnapping, but that's as far as the similarity goes. 

Intrigued, I had a hard time putting it down. Ms. Aguirre has a vivid imagination and I loved where it went. 

If you're looking for a new twist on this genre, I'll recommend this tale of love between different species. 

 

This may not look like a picture of hope, but it is. 

If you know someone who has become addicted to alcohol and wonder if they will make it, there is hope. This memoir is well written but that's not what makes it worth reading. The theme is hope. It's there and it's possible you friend or relative will make it. 

I won't name names but a friend of many years has been clean and sober for over the 30 years I've known that person. Every time we talk I think of the ones who didn't find a way out of the bottle. Still, some have and will. 

If you want a good look at the experience from the depths of a person's soul, pick this one up.
